Shri Guru Narayan Khatri Saraswati Shishu Mandir, Civil Lines, Kanpur was established on 2nd July 1991 with the vision of providing quality education combined with strong cultural and moral values.

The institution was founded under the leadership of Shri Surendra Kakkar as Manager and Shri Pramod Bajpai as the first Principal.

The school commenced its journey through the dedicated efforts of Shri Suryanarayan Tripathi, a senior worker of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and a lecturer at G.N.K. Inter College.

During the academic session 1991–92, the institution started with three classes: Shishu Vatika (Kindergarten), Nursery and Class 1.

Over the years, the institution has been guided by several dedicated educationists including Shri Ram Prasad Vishwakarma, Shri Ratnesh Awasthi and Smt. Sudha Singh.

The Bhoomi Pujan of the new school building was performed by Shri Rajju Bhaiya, Sah-Sarkaryavah of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh.

The foundation stone of the school building was laid by Shri Rajnath Singh on 4th June 1992.

Since its inception, the institution has remained committed to academic excellence, character building and value-based education, preparing students to become responsible citizens and future leaders of society.
